Altinkum, located in the Didim region, which means ‘Golden sand’, has two main beaches gently shelved into the inviting turquoise blue Aegean. Didim is shaped as a peninsula surrounded by Mugla on the east coast, the Aegean Sea on the west and east coast, Lake Bafa and the Menderes River on the northern coast.

From Altinkum it is 106 km's to Aydin province, 53 km's to Söke town, 73 km's to Kusadasi, 110 km's to Bodrum. Also its proximity to famous ancient resorts like Ephesus, Milet, Priene and Pamukkale makes Altinkum a perfect place for a holiday. Apart from all these features of Altinkum, this holiday resort has also been recommended by World Health Council because of its lovely climate, low humidity and sand.

Akbuk

Akbuk can be reached by the local bus service that runs approx every 20 mins from Altinkum.  This is a very peaceful and beautiful area with some breath taking panoramic views.  It has it own beach area and restaurants. It is a wonderful area for anyone that wants just to relax and let the world go by. It is the quietest of the local resorts.

Yesilkent

This is situated to the left of Altinkum. This is a little more developed than Akbuk but is still a very quiet and beautiful area with some of its own very nice beaches. The local bus service also runs out to Yesilkent from Altinkum

Mavisehir

The properties in Mavisehir are the typical Turkish home.

Mavisehir has its own private beach area with its own daily Turkish market. There are a few cafes and seating areas by the beach, and in the evening the Turkish can be found socialising and playing the local games of backgammon and ok.  There are a few small shops which are open all year round and it now boasts its own super market.

Mavisehir can been reach by the local bus service and is about ten minutes from the new Aqua Park.

So you should not get surprised when you hear that 5000 houses have been sold to British people in Altinkum in just one season!
